Interfaith Dialogue, Relay For Life, and Club Meeting

On Thursday, May 12, 7-9 pm at the Kresge Town Hall, the Muslim Students’ Association will be holding an interactive Interfaith Dialogue!

Speakers from the three Abrahamic religions–Judaism, Christianity, and Islam–will gather round and have an open discussion on your chosen subjects! By the end of the night, we hope you will all walk away with a better understanding and appreciation of all the family members of Abaraham.

To publicize the event we will be tabling for the next couple of weeks in the Quarry Plaza. You are more than welcome to come by and help us out! The dates and times are 5/3, 5/5, 5/9, 5/10, and 5/ 11 from 12-2pm!

During those days we will also be taking donations for our Relay for Life team.

Remember, the Muslim Students’ Association will be participating in the 2011 Relay For Life Santa Cruz on Saturday, May 14 at 10 am, on campus!

Support our efforts to fight cancer by joining our team or making a donation.

To join our team, go to Our team name is, “Muslim Student Association.”

To make a donation, you can either drop by while we are tabling; go to the Relay for Life webpage at and click “Donate, then “Donate to a Team”, and type in our team name as ““Muslim Student Association;” or find us out on the track on the 14th. We will be selling Otter Pops, and holding a fortune teller booth! I know we are all poor college students, but please donate.

(If you need help either joining the team or making a donation, please e-mail Team Captain, Kim Pistilli at

And finally, we will be having a general body meeting on Wednesday, May 4 at 8pm in one of the conference rooms above the bookstore. Professor Paul Lubeck will be stopping by to talk about a sociology class being offered Fall 2011 on Global Islam. If you’re interested, definitely come by.
